As the single Slovak artist,
Mr. Dusan Rapos expressed actively his own frank pity and compassion with
victims of recent terroristic attacks in the USA.
On March 25th, 2002, Mr.
Dusan Rapos has introduced in the Concert Hall of Slovak Philharmony with
a great success (and with long-time final standing ovations of all spectators)
the Festive Easter Concert named „Amore Vittoria“ dedicated to innocent
victims of last terroristic attacks in the USA. This Festive Easter Concert
was the selection of Mr. Dusan Rapos's new anti-militaristic opera-ballet
drama named „Pietro e Lucia“.
On this concert many well-know top Slovak and foreign opera soloists took
their artistic participations.
The 130-member Slovak
Philharmonics and Slovak Philharmony Choir were conducted by the renowned
American conductor, Mr. Larry Newland from New York, USA. This Easter Concert
originated in the narrow cooperation with US Embassy in Slovak Republic.
Its high artistic level and social and international importance were appreciated
by personal visits of the President of Slovak Republic, Mr. Rudolf Schuster,
and, of the American Ambassador in Slovak Republic, Mr. Ronald Weiser. |

22nd, 2002 was the Happy Day for Dusan Rapos and Eva Vejmelkova
After
great success of the „A FOUNTAIN
FOR SUSAN“ motion picture on the festival Zoie
Film Fest 2000 in Atlanta, USA, where this most visited Slovak motion
picture of last years gains victory in a competition of 60 motion
pictures and it became the Best Picture Feature / Foreign after successful
first runs in Rome and in African Harare.
Up
today, this motion picture was presented on several international festivals
(International Film Festival of Kerala - India, IFF Montevideo - Uruguay,
IFF Luton -England, IFF Zanzibar - Tanzania, Finale Plzen - CR, Festival
komedii Novomestsky hrnec smichu - CR, IFF Karlovy Vary - CR). The
pioneer motion picture of Slovak director and screenplay writer Dusan Rapos
reached the next expressive success in the USA.
This
full length film „A FOUNTAIN
FOR SUSAN“ has received the second supreme award on the 23rd year of
the International festival PhilaFilm 2000 in Philadelphia, USA, namely
the „Leigh Whipper Silver Award“. It was decided so by the International
association of motion picture and television producers, and, for
a Slovak cinematography, for the director personally and for his realization
team, it is next great international success. Our „Fountain“
was appreciated among 23 decorated motion pictures as an only one non-american
motion picture which has acquired one of main prices because in other categories
there were appreciated only motion pictures of american productions.
This
appreciation in Philadelphia was at the same time the nicest wedding gift,
which received the director Dusan Rapos together with the type of
Zuzana, the actress Eva Vejmelkova, punctually on the day of their non-traditional
wedding in the Las Vegas, i.e. on July 22nd, 2000. Well-known artistic
pair said last their „yes“ after a 15 year long lovestory in famous
church named the Graceland Wedding Chapel which is sanctificed to the King
of rock-and-roll Elvis Aron Presley, and where, among other star personalities,
there had their weddings Jon Bon Jovi a „apostate“ Lorenzo Lamas. Closely
before this wedding, Mrs. Eva Vejmelkova had finished successfully his
psychology studies on the Palackeho University in Olomouc, CR.
At
present Mr. Dusan Rapos performs his next artistic engagement which is
a composition of classical music.
